Unforgettable Norway: Ultimate Gear Guide

Unforgettable Norway: Ultimate Gear Guide

We sent four ambassadors venturing into the untouched beauty of the Lyngen Alps in Norway for an epic 8-day backcountry ski and snowboard tour.

Armed with giddying levels of excitement and a backpack full of our finest gear, the team were ready and prepared to tackle the slopes, embrace the cold and craft memories that would leave them with stories to tell their grandkids (and probably their grandkids’ grandkids too).

Here’s a spotlight on the gear each of our ambassadors wore to take on the cold Norwegian temps and harsh alpine conditions (which included battling 100km/h winds… But, we can talk about that later).

Danii Forde | The Photographer

The modest leader of the crew, Danii kept the team in-line during the trip with chilly 6am, negative 20 degree starts and thousands of metres of vertical climb. Be prepared, she’ll make you battle 100km/h winds just to get “the” shot.

Having travelled the world for skiing for most of his life, Tom can find creative lines as easily as a snowstorm blankets a mountain. You just have to make sure he gets his morning coffee… Or else.

Every crew needs a hype man and that position was relegated to the ever-energetic Julian. Armed with his hype-man status, Julian dressed to impress with layers that could evolve with his changes in temps (because being a hype man is sweaty work).

You can’t have a well-rounded touring crew without the token snowboarder. With Danii (a fellow boarder) behind the lens it was up to Aly to fly the snowboard flag on this mission. Oh, and make sure you’re ready in time. This time-check boss will be tapping her watch impatiently if you’re not.
